    ECU Upgrade

    Hey everyone...ive been told by the porsche dealer in Dubai that they can provide 60HP extra on my car with an ECU upgrade for only $2,500. What they would require is to send the ECU unit from my car to germany for two weeks to get it programmed and that it would be covered under the warranty. It is not a porsche upgrade but after market and i do not recall the tuner. Would appreciate anyones feedback on sch ecu upgrades and the performance benefits or reliability. Thanks...

    check the forums.....there are lots of threads and opinions about this issue.

    i wanted to do it too, but we do not have 98 octane fuel here...so i had to pass...

    am going for the GT2 anyway......

    some tuners says 540 hp with ECU upgrade...

    this figure is considering the 480 hp or 510 hp that some guys tell that the car really has.

    it means 60 hp of gain or 30 hp with ECU ?

    Their tuner is Gemballa. The 60HP are very debatable, you would need exhaust and air filter change to get to 540-550hp, more like 30Hp with ECU alone ....100-200kph in 8.4 seconds for their 550HP (ECU, exhaust etc) is not stellar

    are you sure? 30 hp will be felt only in 6th gear i think.

    to worth the money minimum 40 hp.

    There is no way a car making 550 hp will turn 8.4s only for the 100-200 (that's almost stock performance), my tuned car with cargraphic exhaust turned 7.2-7.3s for the 100-200 (performance box).
    I say keep shopping, maybe cargraphic is an option if you don't want a US tuner.
