    Help: What to tip detailer?

    I've got a guy detailing my car right now (at my house). What is an appropriate tip? 20%?

    My preference would be to OVER tip. Make sure you appear very pleased with the job (even if it's not fantastic) so as not to appear "rich, and have him think he should have charged you more in the first place. Good rewards generate good will. Plus, in this case, he knows where you live.

    What is he charging you? I would say 20% is good, however if he had a really good rate as opposed to other detailers and did a good, job, it would be more, IMO..
