    911 Mechanics in LA

    I have a 1980 911SC and am looking for a good mechanic in the LA area. I live in the South Bay, but would be interested anybody good within 30 minutes. If anybody has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

    If its not your primary transportation why not do it yourself?

    Get the factory manuals, learn how to do it from others on a place like pelican for a 911, buy some tools and you have a new fulfilling hobby.

    It is my primary transportation and there are some repair jobs that I just do not feel comfortable doing. If you have any suggestions, it would be helpful.

    I take my 2003 Bxster to Monaco Motors in Canoga Park. They are very good, but I don't know about older models. I really think they are top notch and service many Ferari's and Lambo's as well as Porsche. Check 'em out at www.monacomotors.com Link Doesn't work, copy and paste.

    pelican parts message board is primarily a vintage 911 board with most users being west coasters. They should know.

    There is a place in Studio City called Speed Gallery. Dan, the owner, is a good friend of mine, and their specialty is the P-car. Their main mechanic Chris is really wonderful with the air cooled sixes. Tell Dan that Justin Reffered you!

    My boss had all his mod's on his 996 TT done at Speed Gallery and he has done a lot of Mod's! I could recommend them just off his car.
