    Painted PCM Panel

    Hey guys,

    I did a search for this on the forum and I could not find anything, so here it goes. Does anyone have any pictures of the Painted PCM Panel, the panel around the Nav Screen and all the buttons. I know its that "gun metal" finish from the factory, but do you know if it can be painted in the Aluminum Look? I have seen a picture of it in black someplace...Just cant find it! If this is a repost, I appologize and punish me as needed...

    Yes, it can be painted in Aluminum look. Option code is CCP. I put it on the car I just ordered.

    It's also available in Leather (CUR), Painted Black (CMF), and Painted Exterior color (CUF). In all four cases, the cost is the same: $ 2,230.

    IMHO, there's too many switches, looks unattractive, like a cop car, so it's better to get a darker PCM/AC/Switch trim, preferably one to match the switches' color.

    Yeah, it's like getting ten different bright colors of paint and painting every different part of your house a different color. Window frames, doors, shutters, doorknobs, vents, trellis, hose bibs, door jambs, WHY? WHY? WHY?

    The 997 interior is very busy, lots of stuff going on; how they compare that to the original sleek, clean, efficient 911 I'll never know.

    Anyway, because there's so much going on I'd be careful not to add to it.

    I saw one done in leather..same as the interior and it REALLY looked very elegant. It was in dark brown. A definate richness added to the interior.

    Is it possible to paint afterwards? Or even better, to get the leather PCM to retrofit? I forgot those options when I bought my car...

    Very easy, everything snaps apart. Did it in my 986S. "Hard" part is paying the ridiculously high cost of the Porsche replacement parts. You can try

    Deviated seats

    Could be pretty nice to have sports seats, or adaptives, with that diamond pattern alcantara for the seats cushions and backs with the bolsters in leather. Black and black or terracotta and black. Mmmm..

    Mine is painted Exterior Color - GT Silver, IMHO it's much classier then the standard MAT GREY finish. It's a Boxster but it shows you the idea.

    Even the backs and sides of my sport seats are painted GT Silver, looks real good in an open car (IMO)

    FWIW, I speced my 03 986S with painted rollbars. It's the only thing I regret doing on THAT car.

    They bother me when seen from the back, these upside down Ushaped distractions; so brightly colored (ASilver) and do nothing to complement the more subtle shapes of the car's rear.

    I mean, unlike the hood or the fenders, the roll bars are functional and utilitarian so why call attention to them?
