    Cayenne Facelift Release Confirmed

    Cayenne Facelift is confirmed for January 2007. Auto Motor Sport has final pictures and release on Calendar is scheduled for January.

    Too bad I will take delivery of my Turbo in May.

    These pics are very old - and RC has confirmed, they look nothing like the final version.


    Porsche would not release a new shape midway through a model year cycle.


    As I have confirmed a good 6 months ago - Mark your calanders for Summer 07.

    I agree the photos might have been seen before. yet the facelift was not listed on the auto motor sport calendar and now it is listed and scheduled for january 07.

    I have been told by my local dealer that porsche would change its model release date from summer to winter. In that case this info is spoton.

    Also i have to point out that AMS has very close ties to porsche and therefore this info is corret i assume.

    I believe that production would begin in January '07 after a Christmas break, but not a public launch. They'll build cars for a few months while letting dealer inventories subside (a problem faced in the US, not so much in Europe, hence your earlier launch dates ).

    If those pictures are real, then it doesn't look much different than my CS.

    I like the front end much more than the current version.

    I'm still trying to figure out why they haven't redone the tail lights though. I always thought the back end looked worse than the Toureg.

    I've seen all the spy photos, but I still can't tell exactly what the front end will look like.
    I agree with you about the back end. Most of Cayenne's competitors have done something interesting with the rear, including the new Audi Q7. The one thing that is kind of unique about the Porsche design is the rear bumper that has big bulges beneath the lights; however, it looks like they are taking those away with the facelift.
    In any event, I will wait until I see the end product before I decide whether to go for the new version. Let me just say that, if history is a guide, the second version of a vehicle doesn't necessarily have better looks compared to the earlier version, especially if the change is induced by government regulations. The example that comes to mind immediately is the Jaguar XKE. To this day the Series I is worth more than the Series II.

    I want to ask you a question. Do you know anything about the interior? Is it going to change in any way? Because the current one is quite flimsty when it comes to some of the switches ie. PASM buttons and air conditioning controls. It would also be great if they made a newer NAVI system which was more integrated into the dashboard !!
