    I think your referring to the vertical green lights which in some pics there are 1, 2 or 3 in a row. That is a lighting system developed by ALMS to help the fans know who is in frst, second, and third...hence how many lights are on. This way when the car comes around the track (especially at night), you can tell what's going on.

    I really enjoy the night shots. Those glowing carbon disks are amazing! I had the pleasure to go there about 4 years ago and it was just unbelievable. The atmosphere was like Mardi Gras meets international motorsports.
