ADMIN if you whant you can delete this two message in italian...Thanks

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

    Why are you worried, Dario?
Yes, this is the next generation Turbo, very nice pics indeed.

There is a rumor that Porsche plans to offer the new Turbo right from the start when they introduce the 997.
Internal code TOP 2 as far as I remember.
Personally I think that the new 911 Turbo will make it's way to customers around 6 months after 997 introduction.

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

    Nice picture Dario thanks

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

i heard the same rumour. the question only is WHEN will the 997 be introduced. in summer 2004 or in 2005?

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

wonder if the same goes for the TT cab.

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

No doubt in my mind that they'll introduce the new 997 at the next year IAA (Franfurt Auto Show), around 13 to 14 months from now.

They just can't stretch the 996 product line anymore.

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

So who is calling their dealership today to put their deposit down?

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

    me!!

    Ciaoooo

IAA is only every 2 years. so geneva in spring 2004 would be the best fair i suppose.

but they are trying their best to strech it IMO: new 996 TT cab, 996 4S cab, 996 GT3 RS, rumoured speedster...

usualy complete new porsche models are introduced in spring or summer, so the above stated cars would only have an active life cycle of 8-9 months. ok, we're talking about turbo or turbo look cars here, they might be replaced some time later. but would you buy a 996TT when the 997 carrera is out and has a lot of improvements? i wouldn't.

georg kacher wrote in car magazine recently that the 997 will appear in mid-2005. IMO this is realistic.

and i think as well that a replacement for the boxster is way more needful, since boxster sales are dropping dramatically. and porsche could "test" new interior styles before introducing them to the hardcore 911 enthusiasts.

    actually, i have no idea...

but there's no doubt that the 997 development is finished completely and it could hit the street any minute.

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

In the US, I say Spring 2005 for the 997 coupe as an early MY 2006 , fall 2005 for the '06 cab and spring 2006 for an early '07 997 TT.
I reason they will want to sell the current 996 platform in the C4S Cab, TT cab, GT3, possible Speedster and possible Turbo S into a shortened second model year ( MY 2005 ).
They realy DO need to bring the new Boxster first ( MY 2005 ) as that model is realy dragging them down right now . Also a way to " beta" new systems on the entry level car before the 911's revision.

Porsche never introduces new models within a MY, so spring 2005 is quite impossible.

I'd say that this is what happens next at Porsche (not confirmed, just a personal guess ):

    Summer 2004: new Boxster generation
    Summer 2005: new 911 generation
Spring 2006: new 911 Turbo generation
    Summer 2006: new 911 GT3 generation

    Again: this is pure speculation.

isn't that exactly how the turbo was released to the US? and the CGT?

i would pretty much agree to your guess!

Looks like our predicted roll- out schedules coinicide . Since I will never again buy the first model year of any Porsche model, looks like the next Turbo for me will be in late 2006 or early 2007 .

    Hi

Is this the new Turbo or is it the new Boxster Coupe? I'm somewhat confused.

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

It's not the Boxster - you can tell from the rear side window...

    Re: 997 TT spy pics

Autoweek claims it is new Boxster coupe.
