    What proof is there apart from Google search results or Wikipedia?
    AFAIK Ferrari rarely officially used the term "spider" in the past anyway. Browsing thru the archives on Ferrari's owner's site, I couldn't really find anything with an Y.



    I have proof....I have old copies of Automobile Year, published in the 50's and 60's and it is spelled "spyder".

    You're not alone, the last good looking ferrari 12 was the TR imo.



    You both need to see the car in the flesh. One cannot judge from pictures. The car does not resemble a Corvette in the slightest.



    Keep in mind folks that many of the Corvette's design cues originate from Ferrari.

    I like the looks, but modern F-cars are spIders, not spYders (as shown in the pictures).

    Just to kick the hornets nest a little more, I went to ferrari.com, where they have a history of cars as well as information about the current cars. They were and are all called "Spider" on that site, which I suppose should be taken as the gospel, since it's a factory site.
