Phone Module in UK

If you have been waiting for a phone kit in the UK the Phone module is at last available as an afterfit, at a cost of over Pounds800 plus fitting, say Pounds1,000 total. Around twice as much as if I had specified it in the first place, but it has a 6 week delivery time because it has to be specially ordered because it still shows as unavailable when dealers try to order it. I am out of this now as I intend to change my car in about 3 months and would only have it in the car for 6 weeks before I change it!

I have done 5,600 miles now and I am told that the value will suffer if I do over about 9,000 in the first year. I have hopes of a C4S when available so I would be on about 14,000 by January and may take a large loss, I am hoping to take less if I change it earlier for a demonstrator (which will have a phone) then trade the demonstrator for the C4S, may not work of course, but I will have to consider the loss on one 14,000 car as opposed to the combined loss on two at 9,000 and 6,000. I know they are to be driven and I am, but this is an expensive luxury car market and people spending this amount of money do not want to see big figures on the odometer (So I am told)
Any views?

Based on what I've seen in the Sunday Times used car section and also the OPC ads, there aren't many second hand 997's for sale.... my estimate for your first year loss after 14k miles would be about Pounds8 to Pounds10k.... not bad for a years motoring in a world class car. I'm no expert, but just my thoughts... would also think that selling via private ad in the Sunday Times would be best.

I too have a C4S on order.. had planned to get a C2 Cab but can't get one till Sept 2005.

Thanks for your views, I would be looking at a loss of about Pounds4,000 if I sold it to the OPC now, so I would expect about Pounds7,000 or Pounds8,000 over the two cars, so about the same as your estimate. I quite like the idea of having two cars for the price of one though
