997 TURBO DEALER'S ORDER GUIDE IS OUT IN INDIA!!!

My dealer just called me and said that he received the order guide --
1. 997 turbo will have 480hp
2. Only one transmission available
2. Sequential type 6 speed could be tip??
He said the options list with all the specs will be out in a day or two.

my source said to me, that there will not be a tiptronic version. So maybe the car I have seen was a PDK car with tiptronic camouflage.

Yes looks like the tip steering wheel will be for PDK ! the PDK must be standard and seems to be the only transmission available!

Dealer said only very limited turbos for South Korea as well. Dont know how many though~ If turbo gets pdk, I am buying it~!!!!!! so exciting

I doubt it will have PDK! your pics were very clear that the turbo with have tip...no camo i think, but maybe the 480hp figure is a camo?

ok the car will be 3.600cc (NOT 3800)
it will have only 2 versions of Gearboxes TIPTRONIC AND MANUAL ( (NO DSG )

IT WILL BE 480HP

it will have standart xenon metalic paint and stuff like that.
It will have 19 wheels
NO OPTION OF CARRERA GT SEATS...
Option at Extra cost for Ceramic Brakes 380mm

You whine a lot according to your smileys icon and yet you don't even know the most important data of the vehicle: Power to weight ratio, torque wrt rpm and performance figures.
Just remember that with "only" 420 hp, the previous Turbo trumped the opposition.
Just be patient, you assume too much.
Regarding standard features, this is Posche, what did you expect?

Why don't you just wait until we have everything OFFICIAL?

And don't forget one thing: you can't compare order guides available in India, Greece, Germany and the US for example. There are country specific options, availability numbers, launch dates, etc.

Please just relax and WAIT.

Rc, now that Dsg wont be out, if tiptronic is faster than manual why should i buy a manual gearbox...
On the other hand i hate automatic gearboxes and i would NEVER give that ammount of money for an automatic car.
So what should i do?!
Buy the manual and all the ladies and older people who dont know how to drive to be faster than me ?! (and after 1 year to have to face a very big depreciation that the new PDK gearbox will be out? (same story for tiptronic gearbox)

I may have to wait for the new PDK or for the new 997 GT2 that will be out...

I dont know what to say but i am really worried.

Personally, I don't care about shifting philosophies. I take whatever is the fastest. For me driving pleasure means maximum performance. And if Tiptronic is faster and I can keep both hands at the steering wheel to play around with the car, no problem with me. Of course Tiptronic doesn't shift perfectly and it is not perfect for track racing. But for daily driving and especially driving on public streets, Tiptronic is fine, especially in conjunction with the chrono sport package.

But like I said before: we should wait until Porsche finally let's the cat out of the bag like we say here in Germany. We still have some information gaps, even rumor gaps and we shouldn't rush in making a final decision based on half information. The wait is soon over, as soon as dealers can order the cars, more information will leak. But I'm still surprised that the order guide in India is already available. This indicates that Porsche may have changed plans and we could get the press release much earlier than anticipated. Maybe Porsche is also pressed by dealers to come out with information for customers because they're afraid they won't have time to get their orders. I don't know. Let them surprise us.

Rc knows better if I take under consideration everything he sais... I Really trust him eventhough i dont know him personally.

But why dont you guys call your Porsche Dealers to tell you what they know....?? (as from what i heard today my porsche dealer is not official at all..)

If Tiptronic is as fast in performance as PDK (which I doubt) then why favor PDK over Tiptro? With the first one, you control the upshift and downshit timing but that's about it so if it's only performance you're after, then consider the tiptro too.
It also seems you're in extreme hurry and that your life depends on getting the Turbo right now so get the first 997 Turbo that comes out then get the one with PDK when it comes out and then get the GT2. It can only get faster.
Depreciation will not be good but not too bad either.
Simple problems, simple solutions.

Go back to your dealer and sign the order form, trust, EVERYBODY will be happy!

but yesterday evening he tell me that he know nothing official and he prefer to tell me nothing becouse are all rumors not real...but he promise me as soon as he has real info he call me,but i'm sure that we

I enjoy the fact that you dont believe me...
I wish you were right but i trust very much my dealer.

The only surprise i would like from Porsche now is to produce the same time AND TURBO S with 500hp+ and PDK gearbox.

I have no doubt about the Order Guide being ready....as my dealer would not pull my strings I have asked him several times before he just had no info secondly he seemed very excited himself and he personally called me to let me know. He also said the info is a bit sketchy at the moment and he will get full details in couple of days. He is sending his Excutive Sales to my office to go over the Option list...so will report back as soon as i get my eyes on it.
