    At first I didn't think I liked the face lift, but those bastards at Porsche really know how to make you want their latest design!!! From the look of that small antennae on the rear cowl sat radio must be coming with the face lift.

    Back at the introduction of the 997, the first thing I noticed on the exterior and was disappointed about was the tailights. They were too trendy BMW-Bangle-ish.

    Wow, it's beginning to become evident how "dated" this look has become!

    I think it is really good. It will be a real improvement on the actual 997. I like very much the shape of the new rear lights. I don't think the antenna on the top is for digital radio. To me it looks more like the antenna that it is used in a walkie talkie system.

    They'll be stuck onto all cars imported to USA; DOT requirement.

    LOL.. I can't imagine what those warts will help with if you're actually rear-ended.

    Luckily I've never had the experience in any of my Carreras/Turbos.

    seeing them side by side like this makes the current 997 look dated and a little heavy . This is a beautiful change and really can be appreciated when the two pictures are side by side .

    My sentiments exactly. However will be better to see the new one in person to ascertain how much better the change really is. The "BMW" look bugged me at the beginning and now more than ever since it's gonna be changed so soon.

    Did anybody notice the tape between the rear lights ?
    What does that mean - I'm thinking of the eighties...
    And yes, the mirrors seem to have a new shape (somehow bigger) also.
    I like the rear, but I'm not sure about the front

    Taillights on face lift looks better, but I think it is unfair from Porsche to make facelift so short after 997 was introduced. You have new 997 and after one year it is already old.

    Those tail lights should be on 997 from the beggining, because change on rear between 996 in 997 was to small...

    This is not fair, the front of the new model looks so much better than the current one. I paid $100,000 in cash 6 months ago and my car is almost obsolete.

    Cars used to get a facelift every year, I didn't know that "fair" has anything to do with anything, except maybe emotion.

    I'm o.k. with the rear, not so sure about the front. New design looks less integrated and balanced than old. Overall, it's not making me rush to write a classified ad for my '05..

    997 was avalible here one year ago, and today I already see face lifted 997. I really doubt that they are testing face lifted 997 in 2006 and will be introduced two years later... doesnt make sense... problably this change will come after new year... But I hope Im wrong...
