99 GT3 transmission

In GT Magazine they state that the 1999 GT3 (Clubsport version Only) used the "bar" shift mechanism a la 993, rather than cables style - which all Porsches now use.

What transmission did the Clubsport version use?

The Clubsport used the same tranny as any other street GT3. I'm not sure if they used a solid linkage or cables though...

I wondered that myself, unless it was a typo.

I was wondering about it, once I read it, b/c my 1st to seconde shift in my 04GT3 is kind of notchy, has been from the start. Feels like there are 2 nothces to pass before it is securley engaged in 2nd.

It's possible that the MK I GT3 used a linkage, but I'm pretty sure that the MkII uses cables. Both versions of the GT3 use the Getrag G50 gearbox like the 993, unlike the 996 Carreras...

Yeah the MKII uses cables. The magazine stated that only the clubsport verison of the MKI used the solid linkage.

yes true, at the time the mk1 came out i heard that the clubsport uses a solid shifter linkage and the normal gt3 only cables meanwhile the mk2 models clubsport or not had no difference apart the rollbar and the battery switch.

I remember that a journalist started this rumor back then by getting his facts wrong.

It was the GT3 Carrera Cup race car which had a solid rod linkage, not the GT3 Clubsport road car.
