Jason. I will not be doing the tour but I am sure it would be interesting.

For you other nerds here is a link. Only 140 people per year.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

IMG_5402.JPGIMG_5403.JPGIMG_5404.JPGJust got the car back from my Porsche dealer. Had the car detailed at their own cost as I was not happy with the state of the painting after 3k km. Next to a oil and filter change I had custom made side decals  as well as the whole front fitted with a clearbra.

In regard of adjusting suspension including corner weighting so far most noticeably is the stiffer rear roll bar, makes the rotate much better. Let's see how high speed stability is affected with less toe and more camber front and rear.

Hopefully now the weather turns for the better to be able to do some enjoyable drives.

Looks a bit embarassing for the GTR, since they claim a 0-100 in 2.7 angry

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

A guy I know owns a 991.1 Turbo S Cab and his brother has a GT3 RS. He claims that from 0-220 kph or in that particular speed range, the GT3 RS is quite similar or sometimes even a tiny bit faster.

Also, I get the feeling that with every new GT-R variant, the performance gets actually worse but the price increases.  yes

I kind of have the feeling that the GT-R is at it's development end and a new model is necessary to keep up with he competition.

Never saw the GT-R doing 2.7 seconds from 0-100 kph in any German car review I read. Best time, as far as I remember, was 3.0 or 3.1 seconds, never something with 2.x!

My son likes a lot how the GT-R looks but I saw the car a couple of times on the road and never liked it. Also, drove it once (earlier model) and while I loved the punch and interior (at that time, Porsche had the 997.2 Turbo only...), this just wasn't my type of car, sorry.

today my iPhone made my PCM collapse - literally, when i tried to connect the phone via bluetooth. suddenly the screen went black. then the porsche logo came and then again black. this continued periodically, it was like the system tried to boot but could not. the radio could not be turned off (no button reactive, not even the volume level). in short the PCM need to be changed.....takes four days to arrive from germany to vienna.

needless to say i am p...ed.

well, non-solid state hard-drives do that, solid state ones (almost) never. amazing that porsche still uses  the old technology.

btw, i saw and heard an R8 V10plus today. the rear and front views are very good, the side view is a bit lacking IMHO (the car seem so short). but the sound is AMAZING!!!! you did very well to get that cat, we will not have many more takes on engines like that in the future. enjoy!!!!

Yeah, it takes them years to certify a certain tech but apparently, being a member of the VW Group family, this has already improved and will improve in future cars.

Yes, the engine was at least 50% of my buying decision...the sound...the elasticity...throttle response...revving...everything...amazing engine. Oh, did you know that the racing version LMS actually uses the same engine (up to every single bolt!) but only with 25 hp less? This V10 engine seems to be Audi's "Mezger" engine.

    Thanks. Smiley

I was on the Paul Ricard track at Le Castellet this week . ( South of France )

Here are a few pics of the event .

There was this yellow RS, driven by a women who does not like big wings . I did not meet her on track as we were in different groups, but she seemed fine without the wing....

    IMG_9270.jpg

Some nice cars came to the  track ..... 918, P1 ....

Otherwise , saw again some of the RS I have seen in Imola last month , as they take part in the Swiss racing series . Some will know the Martini RS. It belongs to someone who also owns a Martini 918.

This white RS wanted to be faster, so it got dressed in a mat blue foil

It has been mentioned a few times that the Turbo S is very fast on track . I can confirm , after witnessing it this week at Paul Ricard, that with two good amateur drivers , the TTS is actually faster then the GT3 RS  on track . As soon as you pass the apex , the TTS takes the lead .

Btw: That woman in the GT3 RS without that OEM rear wing, how did she get street legal technical approval for that car? I thought that Switzerland had even more restrictive laws than Germany? Smiley In Germany, it is impossible to get approval for that (I know a GT3 owner who tried and it required the help of Porsche but Porsche refused...), it would require extensive re-testing of aerodynamics/etc., which would cost huge money (in the low six figures to get approval).

Did you ask her? Could be interesting.

She must of taken if off after registration . Next control is only in 4 years . She can put it back on just before the inspection . There are hardly any chances cops will make any problem as they are not aware of it + they look more for loud exhausts, un homologated rims, intakes .. that kind of stuff .

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Porsche vienna swapped my PCM surprisingly fast and yesterday we took off from vienna to central italy. 1000km in a day in the GT3RS, mostly highway. it was an easy drive except for 20min of hail between udine and venice with nowhere to hide since all the underpasses were already full with cars:::))) i thought my roof would be totally damaged but all is fine. later on there was heavy rain which reduced my speed to 80Km/h, then again sunshine...

so proof is here: the GT3RS is a great long distance GT car:::)))) now i shall fill the roads between siena and l'aquila with the RS sound:::)))
