Discussed the GT2's lower back during lunch with my dealer. We agreed that the best would be to go down to the exlusive departement and make the final spec together with them, in order to find a way to make this ugly piece of plastic "disappear".

One of my oldest contacts in the Swedish Porsche organization will jump ship and join forces with the McLearen/Bentley dealer. So guess I will have to try the "Spaceship" during the next coming year.... smiley

But since he's not yet started and there could be a month or two before he is in place, I'll guess there will be a 825, 975LT or maybe even a 1043 LT Spider that I will test drive...???!!

It's very hard to try to like that front on the 720S, can't get over the headlight recessed holes...

I don't love the look of the headlights either, but at least they are functional this time. On the previous cars they were shaped for no other reason than to evoke the brand's logo (and they were not beautiful either)...

That is very true, being functional does give it respectable excuse, stll doesn't make them pretty but still...

I almost bought one of those blue GTs last week. Reallllllly nice looking car and color (Pacific Blue), especially with the light interior. It will be close to Winter soon though, so couldn't pull the trigger only to garage it again.

I just got an update from my dealer who says that they still don't have the information from Porsche about how many they will get so have not committed cars to anyone. He says Porsche keep making different noises. This may be treated with a pinch of salt as he may just be keeping me quiet gently !

On another note I am going to Frankfurt, can anyone advise on how i can get access to the Porsche stand, UK dealers seem to have zero sway - Short of me dangling a couple of sets of Porsche keys at the gate, can anyone help/advise ?

my austrian dealer issues VIP passes but i saw people get in with 'i have the GTxxxxx on order', at least to see the cars up close.

If you are a member of an official Porsche Club they will let you in by showing the membership card

First post here but been lurking for a long long time.

I received an email 3 days ago from a dealer in the DC metro area about 2 available allocations for the GT2RS, even though I never bought from that specific dealer nor am I interested in the car. Just found it a bit strange as I've never ever received such an email for any other car.

Very strange for a sold out hard to get car, maybe the increased completion in that $300k range and the dubious looking GT2RS are making a dent in the speculators.

That's because the dealer will not be selling the car at MSRP. The email is the start of an auction with the car going to the highest bidder regardless of past relationships. Smiley

Time to finalyse my spec on Wednesday. The Swedish cobfigurator lack a lot of options, but have been cruising around the German as well, so.....

Regarding colors, I have concluded that among the ordinary, only black would work for me. However, I will se if I can find a way to get the sea blue that Throt found somewhere on the web (see page 5 in this thread. By the way, you don't have the color code Throt?). Would be somewhat boring to have two cars only separated by the size of the wing standing in front of my house, since my 991.1 GT3 is black and will stay with me.

Been on RT for some time now and I'm full of respect for the knowledge you all have regarding cars and details about them, so I hope you could help me now. I guess some of you have had the time to go deeper in to the details regarding the GT2 RS than me, so please let me know if anyone of you have found any details or "must have" specification that you think I need to consider when finalizing my spec.

Have you been able to them to paint the bottom part of the rear bumper? if they do, then you have a lot more freedom in choosing colors then and not just black to hide it.

No, that is not an option. Original all the way for me. I will, however, push hard on wednesday, for me to be able to have a chance to sit down with Porsche exclusive to discuss this before the car is built. I'm going for Weissach,so still have some time for this, since the W production is planned to start in February.

But as you so wisely point out, if that option opens up, the color choices is on a totally different level kiss

I reckon if you opt for Black painted magnesium wheels and the Weissach pack the back wouldn't even look too bad, at least not in my eyes?

Agree kiss That is how it is spec'ed right now wink

But if it is possible, I would really want to try to find another color for this car, since I'm not Whoopsy and think it would be boring with all my cars in black, even if I agree with him and really think that a black Porsche is a good choice. And even he has left the all black with his spec of the special edition of the Turbo S.

I think that a good and quit nice looking alternative to black on black is Throts picture of a sea blue version on page 5 in this thread.
