My god I dont beleive I'm buying a car that costs that bloody much!!

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

    Congratulations!

As soon as you step into the car, you will forget about the sticker shock!

And now, the wait begins. When is your baby due to arrive?

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

    Vinnie,
I thought that the PVTS, top tint screen, and sunroof are all standard on the turbo?.They are on my car, for April delivery, regards,. SIMON.

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

Yes, they are all "standard" (as in "compulsory") in UK-spec 911s. But they aren't exactly free, which is why they're showing on the invoice.

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

Yep the groom is correct, they are additional to the invoice price, so are 'cost options' although i don;t think you can't not have them..... However when you get a price from the dealer, as far as i know it includes that price...

May build for the car, so it will be due either late may(hopefully) through to mid june.

SimonH, how have you specced yours?

    Vinnie,
Just noticed that my RRP is rated at Pounds99,920 basic, and i think that is where the difference is.My car is specced as
    Artic silver
    Black leather,
    Manual,
Gear lever and handbrake in aluminium,
    Sport shifter,
    Thicker three spoke steering wheel.
    Porsche embossed headrests,
    Stainless steel door entry guards,
    Heated seats,
    Rear wiper,
    Park assist,
    Sport chrono pack,
    Telephone module,
    CD Autochanger,
    Side skirts painted,
Rear axle diff lock / LSD.

Total price Pounds105,384 , what the hell am i doing.Regards, SIMON.

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

April delivery - I bet the wait is getting unbearable! My delivery of may / june hasn't sunk in yet, but i know come about april I'm gonna be feeling it!

Such a shame no sports exhaust is planned isnt it!

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

Update : Am getting guards red stitching on the black leather console + storage compartment lid

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

How did you do it? Are they covered by 09991 Stitching on all Exclusive options?
If so, you're likely to get Guards Red stitching on XPA and CFA as well...

Is it mentioned on the additional Exclusive form, as part of 25432?
Or is there yet another special ordering code?

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

    Vinnie, congrats again!
Simon, you did not ask for any help, but I can't help noticing that you don't have CUV on an otherwise very well optioned car. Just trying to help here. Re. Pounds105,384 , having gone through the process, all I could tell you is that IMHO it's great you are getting every option you want! I think it's almost a given you would love your baby and want to add more $ to it--just see postings from other members of this forum for proofs. Congrats and post pictures when the car is here!

XPA and CFA are red leather anyway not deviating black, so it's only the black leather console and lid that is getting the red stitching.

Dont know the codes as yet, I just went into the showroom and saw a car with black leather, leather rear console all with red stitching, and loved it!

So I just told the salesman to add the red stitching to the black leather, and he's confirming it tomorrow for me...

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

I know, but Guards and CR are different shades of red. You probably won't notice as long as it's red on black leather, but if you put the two reds next to each other, you might.

Have you double-checked whether Carrera Red stitching is available in the UK (whether as "Carrera Red" or as "Thread to sample") in the first place?

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

The salesperson said that the carrera red seats come with guards red stitching anyway? so the guards red will match...

Is this not the case? If not i'm sure as the interior is red, and only red stitching on the black it should look ok as it did in the car i saw

    Hello Cannga,
Just sat here trying to work out what option CUV is that you mentioned?.I know i have also added the newly released option of,Wave bye bye to the nice man in the GT-R button , regards, SIMON.

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

I think the only button to way bye bye to a GT-R is the ENTER button on a credit card reader after you put in your PIN number for an aftermarket powerkit!!

Don't mean to turn you guys completely over to the dark side but PCCB may be one of the best options I got on my car:

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

    Simon,

Go to this thread for picture & discussion of CUV. http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat...true#Post419019

CUV adds the "turbo" in script form AND nice looking stitch lines to the lid of the compartment between the 2 front seats. Totally cosmetic and not even in your line of sight normally, but almost like "a rite of passage" to TT ownership. It is very inexpensive; lots of people have it and is costly and a PITA to order afterwards. Serves no purpose, but is unsettling to not order it and then see a car with it afterwards.

I used my budget for PCCB and cut way back on interior options. CUV & XPA are the only things I added. Would have done door finisher in leather too (another cheap option) but my leather is beige and I was afraid that area would get dirty easily.

Hope this helps and remember to order as many options as your budget allows and then add a couple more. You will NOT regret the decision.

If your salesperson is correct, then I retract my statement. I do hope (s)he is 100% positive about that, though...

Looking at that picture (door: guards red stitching, steering wheel: standard stitching in carrera red interior), I don't know.

For what it's worth, the CFX floor mats are available with piping in either shade of red.

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

Looking at that picture, the carrera red leather goes well with the black leather+ guards red stitching - it seems to match very well so seems good enough to me!

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

    Vinnie
What is the waiting list in the UK for a Turbo? Do they offer any discount? I have been offered a May build in Japan with an approximately GBP 6,000 discount.

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

I have never heard of any UK Porsche dealership giving any kind of a discount on a new car.

Re: Final spec submitted, may build!

The general word is (in the UK) that Porsche DO NOT discount brand new cars - You'd struggle to get the floormats thrown in for free!

So not only do they not discount new cars, they offer insulting amounts on part ex! (2003 MB e55 kompressor anyone??)
