Picked up this beauty (Grey 991.2) late January, but for family reasons I have been quiet.

Very nice!  That road has featured in several youtube vids lately.  Is it as nice as it looks?

It is nice, though not as nice as they want to make it, but is does change the scenery dramatically when used to Dubai. It is very wide in most places and to smooth in my opinion. Last summer I was taking a road between Gap and La Grave in the French alps, and that was a real mountain road. Many places two cars would not fit, the tarmac was not perfect and you constantly would need to be on alert during spirited driving.

The problem with roads that are too smooth and our modern 911's is that in order to fully enjoy them you have to go insanely fast. Way too fast for public roads. I also like much more an uneven mountain road , more narrow. You get much more out of it as no need to do crazy speeds.

When I drive down to Le Castellet Paul Ricard track, I often do the napoleon road between Grenoble and Gap instead of taking the Autoroute du Sud.

You just explained it much better than I could kiss
