Just picked up my car this afternoon with some of the work listed on my sig done finally.... I now can check off Evolution Motorsport's 996 TT Big Brake Upgrade off my list of upgrades scheduled.... All I can say is WOW!!!.... and anyone out there that has driven a 996 TT knows where im coming from when I say when you jam on he brakes at 40mph and your eye balls wanna fly out of your head... Its like night and day compared to the standard 997 brakes I had before....and not to mantion the 12" monster calipers and bigger rotors that I missed so much on my old 996 TT....
Basically Evolution Motorsports ( http://evoms.com/porsche%20ec%20art%20test.htm ) made a brake upgrade kit for the 997 by using all OEM Porsche Brake components from the 996 Twin Turbo brake front and back. "EVO Front Big Red Brake Upgrade: The OEM Brakes on the 997 are good but at only 305MM in diameter, there is room for improvement. Our Twin Turbo brake conversion is utilizes a 325MM OEM x-drilled rotor and CNC machined hat. We adapt OEM Porsche Twin Turbo Calipers for a tremendous braking improvement. The increased rotor diameter as well as the larger caliper / pad will safely reduce speeds while maintaining a firm pedal feel. Our first of its kind brake upgrade system"

Yes the TT Brakes are 2 peice.. and they are 325mm

It was the only 997 available in the color I wanted "arctic silver"... they had 2 997's in showroom... GT SIlver 997S and Arctic silver 997(mine) ...both had same sticker price....86,000... So I took the color I liked better...plus I got 3k knocked off the sticker....i didnt care about the rims or pasm but it came with it... im throwing on 20" Techart wheels this week so doesnt matter I sold those 19" sport wheels to a 6speedonline forum member :-)

Not to beat a dead horse but I was still curious about this issue. I understood that the 997 S brakes were from the 996 Turbo/4S.
I have the book "PORSCHE 911 ENDURING VALUES" that you can buy off the Porsche web-site. under "911 Collection". It's 100% about the 997. It's pretty good. Anyway it says-
"The 911 Carrera S was even blessed with a modified Turbo brake system. Along with larger diameter master cylinder and increased brake boost (again, 17 percent), the Carrera S rotors boast impressive dimensions- a diameter of 330 millimeters and thickness of 34 and 28 millimeters front and rear, respectively."

I got this book from "motorbooks.com" after reading a thread here. Definitely worth a look, and for me a great souvenir. Cost $NZ45 off motorbooks, seen it for $NZ175 at a Porsche Dealer!!
