    who is having problems with Bose Audio turning to 106.

    What was the issue with the audio system on a 997S turning suddenly to 106. when playing a cd or listening to other radio station ?
    It seems that mine did it today twice in a two hour drive, then I just pressed CD and it went back with no problem.
    Let me know.

    try turning off the traffic reporting option

    That did not work for me... I took it into the dealer and it is a know problem... they replaced my stereo system with a new on.

    mikekenzo, did getting the new PCM show any updates or anything? mine has this problem and i'd love to use it as an excuse to get the newer software PCM

    This is a known problem with Power 106FM in Los Angeles. The solution is to uncheck the traffic reporting function in the PCM. I did that and it worked for me.

    I turned off the traffic box on mine, and the problem ceased, however the dealer still swtched out the unit with a new one.

    The new PCM did have some updates, but unfortunaley I am not aware of the specifics... I think that it is such a common issue that if you tell them, they will immediately replace the unit. That is what happened with me, no questions asked. As for frequency, it happened every time i was on 100.7, 93.3 and 106 for more than +/- 5 minutes.

    I've bumped this thread because this situation has just happened to me again twice... after over three years of being clear of it.  My traffic reporting function was turned off at the time.

    Also, this time, my 'continuous' travel data was cleared and returned to zero..

    Anyone else had this happen?  I may try to get the PCM replaced under extended-warranty if that's possible.

    I take it that no one else has had this problem recently..

    I shall contact my OPC tomorrow and urge them to replace my PCM.  I might as well get some benefit from the expense of the extended - warranty..
