BTW....I suggest you mark out relevant dimensions on the lid using painters' masking tape (it's totally paint safe...I use it all the time when I electric buff the car)....It will also help with the vertical & horizontal alignment of the logo
You will need to find the middle of the lid....that dimension isn't listed on the info I gave you. run a piece of painters tape the entire width of the lid...mark the two edges on the tape....peel off the tape and measure between the two marks.....This helps because there is a curve on the lid which makes it a little tricky to accurately measure with a ruler...

To apply:
Find two points of contact with a surface when the logo is held perpendicular to it. Mark these points with grease pencil or small bits of tape. Find corresponding points on car's rear deck paint. When ready to stick logo down, remove adhesive backing, touch logo perpendicularly to the paint so that the two points on the logo are touching the two points on the paint. Then carefully lay the logo down onto the car. Done.
Because it is smaller, the S can be applied by "dropping" it onto paint using pre-applied position markings to paint.
