    Mercedes G 55 Kompressor AMG and ML Final Edition

    What has been a rumor for a long time is reality now: Mercedes AMG offers a G 55 Kompressor model with the same engine specs/power as the E55 AMG. 0-62 mph acceleration time is the same as on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, top speed is limited to 210 kph due to safety reasons.
    Cost in Germany is around 108000 Euro incl. VAT.

    Mercedes also offers a ML "Final Edition" model for the german market, for other markets maybe too. It seems that the "end" of the ML is coming...

    It doesn't make sence to have a car with so much power and being smoked everyday on German highway at top speed by Diesel engines with not more than 2.0 Liter capacity like 150Hp BMW 320D or Mercedes 220D

    Why not? More power = more fun. I get my Cayenne Turbo end of this month and I'm sure that a G model with almost 500 HP is fun too. Imagine those faces of some sportscar drivers if they can't follow a truck up to 125 mph.
    And there is another reason for the G 55 K: the bulletproof versions of the G-class mostly sold to Russia, Asia and the Middle East need more power to carry the extra weight adequately. A friend of mine owns a bulletproof G55 (he runs a business in Eastern Europe and has been threatened several times, especially with family kidnapping) and he just can't wait to get the G55K version as soon as possible because the weight really doesn't make fun on his car.
