Am I Out of Luck?

I'm wondering if anyone here has insight into the supply/demand situation with the 997TT's... I've pretty much fallen in love with the TT in GT Silver, and I really want it in a Tip (I'm not very particular about other options), but at this point the 6 month wait I've been quoted would put me somewhere in January. Do you think there's any way I could find one of these sooner than that?

I think it's going to be tough. If any dealer happens to have free cars, they may be asking a premium. Tips are rarer now than manuals so that makes it even tougher. Your comment about not being particular about other options - at least get the sportchrono option - not only is it alot of fun, not having that option will affect your car's value on resale.

Yeah, the sport chrono seems great, I just meant that if I were to find a build without the exact specs I wanted, I wouldn't mind.
By checking several dealers online inventory, I'm noticing that a few have turbos, either available or pre-sold, but the majority of dealers don't have any, free or sold. I heard somewhere that July 8th was the 'official' release date, do you think more will become available after then?

got my launch tt, at msrp, by being persistant. this involved checking every u.s.dealers website for a few hrs. when i was a today buyer 6wks ago. approx.20-25 dealers indicated they had a launch car available , the cars were always at the very end of the vehicle inventory. most were silver or black and most had similar options which included sc.but all were 6sps.. i bet you can find your tt

Thanks guys

, there are indeed a few GT Silver manuals available, so I'm seriously considering learning to drive stick, but I'm gonna keep checking... On that note, if anyone else is looking for an available 6spd, let me know, I might be able to get you the name of a dealer.

FWIW, as for me, I wouldn't care whether the tip was a tiny fraction of a second faster than the manual. I would simply want to interact more with the car so, for me, only a manual gearbox would do. I have been driving a tip for some time now and all I can say is that, to me, it's a much less involving experience. But you pay your money and you take your choice!

Since I've done my research over the past few days, I *know* you can have a car next week or, failing that, order to your spec for September delivery from a few different dealers @ MSRP.
