    Dumb question, but I'm asking anyway

    Hi guys,

    this is probably a fairly stupid question, but i'm going to ask it anyway! is there any difference in sound on the sports exhaust for the cayenne versus the stock? but i mean is the difference huge like on the carrera stock vs the sport pipe?

    I do not know that, but my brother has installed the Techart exaust ( the back part) and the sound is much louder then the stock. Sounds like a big fast speed boat!!!

    ..but now that I think more about it, I think he installed the Techart ( Cayenne Turbo) because there was hardly any sound difference between the sports and stock exaust ( more for looks).
    The P ones are both street legal, no switch off button like on the 997, so they keep a 'legal level of noise'....

    If you're referring to the four tube sports tailpipes, no, there's no difference in sound. It's a cosmetic change to the exhaust tips only and no change to the actual exhaust system.

    I have them on my car and can confirm that there is no change to the sound over the standard tailpipes. They are purely cosmetic (and very expensive!) but do make the car look much better and are easier to clean. I'm surprised by just how good a noise my V6 makes actually.

    I thought there was a difference in sound! The option = $2000 here if I remember correctly, what a waste should have asked here before I put my order down with the pipes

    They're pretty darned expensive for what they are, you're right about that, but not quite $2k. Only $1,290 I think.

    GBP623 for factory fit, loads more as a dealer fit option as you need lower bumper trim + paint

    that means it will be around 2k here GM austin, prices here are always more expensive even from the factory, oh well it's too late to change that now lol, my cayenne turbo arrives at the dealer on wednesday and i'm collecting it on saturday

    Yep, loads more as a retrofit. My wallet felt like it had been raped when I got the bill of Pounds1135 GBP. I had no choice as my car was a dealer spec'ed car that they had ordered as their next demo before I convinced them to sell it me instead. I wanted them fitted as they finished off my car and the standard pipes looked a bit weedy against all my other extras.

    Not so noticable on the turbo!

    You got four square pipes, which are nicer than the two big triangles we would have been looking at.

    i undestand if it's the cayenne S and you want better looking pipes cos the stock ones on all the cayenne models cept for the turbo looks a bit understated IMO. the cayenne turbo has 4 HUGE square dual pipes coming out so it actually isn't that neccessary

    Mike.. Get the Techart pipes. The sound is so much better then the stock ones....and they look good too.

    i have to phone techart themselves then ship it in, deal with customs etc. etc.

    My brother orderd it trough their internet site.... It arrived very quickly with no problems.....As Switzerland are not part of the EU, it also had to clear customs... )

    Anyway, I guess you are looking forward to saturday to collect your Cayenne

    mike forget techart. go for speedart. its the best, and you have a button to push when ever you want to turn it off and make it loud or turn it on when your not in the mood for a loud voice
