what if someone else locks you inside your trunk. wouldnt it be nice to have a lighted release latch in there?
think outside the box... or in this case,, inside .
Yup, that would be nice, but:
1) If they can get me down in either trunk of my Boxster they have to be magicians, or they'd have to cut me into little pieces--in which case I dont need the doorhandle anyways
2) If someone locks you into the trunk of your car, they probably mean you harm to begin with, and probably wouldn't let you use the mechanism to get yourself out. And I would think that thugs who wanna put you in your trunk know that this mechanism exists.
The only case in which it might be good to have these handles, is if a child locks itself up.
But then I havent even brought up the issue of how you even would be able to shut either hatch on the Boxster har enough for them to actually lock...and that would be even harder for a child.
I guess there is some sense of security in having it, and on cars with big trunks it's probably a good idea.
I believe the handles are a very american thing. Not a practical device, but a "dont sue me" device.
I reminds me of the court case where a lady sued a microwave manufacturer, because the manual did not tell her to NOT dry her cat in the microoven.
The "sweet" old lady killed her cat because she couldn't add 2+2.
Same goes for the guy who sued McDonald's for serving hot coffee..
He accidentally dropped a hot cuppa coffee down his groin during a McDrive visit, and sued McD because the cofffee was so hot. LOL!
Worst thing is: Now McDonald's have printed the cups with "WARNING: Coffee is hot".
Whats next? Ice cube trays with the warning: MAY BE COLD?
