    Aerokit Cup

    Im definately going to add the aerokit to my 997, There are not many pics on the net, I have seen one in the flesh and it was stunning. Please post any pics you have of the 997 with this kit.....

    I really didn't like the aerokit when I first saw it, but I've really warmed up to the style.

    I'm sure it looks even better in real life.

    Nice, less subtle than 996 aerokit, but did not shelf out $12,000AUD for it.. too me a little too pricey, plus ?add weight.

    Funny; I dont love that carrera classic rims, but on the aerokit they look way better than the standard S rims...

    Only 7 weeks to go..

    On the 1st March I get something that pretty much exactly looks like that red one above.

    Aerokit is superb. In red It really looks stunning.

    But as many have said, the pictures don't really do it justice! Far far better in the flesh!

    Are you worried about ground clearence at the front? especially on UK roads? I can imagine the aero kit and 20mm is real low too.

    I was surprised at how much clearance it has.

    My Skyline (that is being replaced by the 911) has 7cm clearance between front lip and floor. That is just about the limit. It scrapes occasionally but rarely (although I cant do multi storey car parks). It clears mist speed bumps by millimeters.

    The Aerokit must have about 10cm (9cm with -20mm) clear.(on the 997S) (it looked high in comparison). Thats easily enough clearance. I imagine it would be difficult to ground that front in in normal daily driving.

    ALso, the lower lip is detchable for when I ram it into a pavement by mistake!!

    10cm is a fair amount of ground clearance. Experience tells me that I will still be unable to do multi storey car parks however!

    When looking at the pics I was thinking to myself it has one lip too many, what's it look like without the lowest lip?

    Dont like it at all ,, front end way too busy and rear looks like a cheap bolt on . Spoils the vehicle , wait for a better one cause this is a very poor effort imo . Techart way better if thats your thing..

    I saw one in person on a Club Coupe and it looked great!!!
    The rear blends much better than in photos.

    At least for SoCal roads it would be highly impractical
    A stock "S" has a rubber spliter that will rub on occasion.
    The AeroKit is 1/2" lower than that spliter that rubs AND 6'' forward
    Clearance dim is 5.125" at the front lip in the USA on an "S".

    Angle of approach is severely limited

    In case you fancy with the front without the lip,
    the lip is probably only detachable for exchanging it after a damage as it is for turbo or GTs. These low lips cry for frequent exchanges. I am not sure about the regulations in other countries, but usually changes to the configuration like driving without the lip may not be approved.

    Porsche made some noise about the importance of the black lip on the 996 turbo; that this lip is necessary for high speed and that the two holes are essential for additional brake ventilation.

    Therefore you may have to paint the lip black if you find it visually too distracting.

    Luko thanks for all of those pics!! I have seen that red one I think its at the Swindon Porsche garage now, and it looks great (maddad you have made a good choice) Thanks for all the pics if anyone has anymore would really appreciate them! especially in black?

    That rear wing....is what is killing me......hope the new gt3 wont come with that....
