    My M5 arrived but....

    After just 200km in the M5. The check engine light came on, transmisson failure as well as the bluetooth and CD changer error. This M5 is definitely a fragile car.

    New cars are too damned packed full of unnecessary electronics and "features". Sorry to hear of your problems - hope they sort it out quickly for you...

    heh, congrats on the car, just saw the videos, u were shiftin at redline already. isnt there a break in period for the car?

    Wow, I just downloaded the movie of you revving the engine. Oh man, that sounds incredible!!!! Reminds me of the THREE Gallardos I heard all revving at a stoplight. Good times......

    So it only took 200km for the gremlins to take the engine, transmission AND stereo out That can't be to reassuring in a 200mph car..

    Hope they fix it soon though, must be a thrill to drive!

    Wow, no "BMWs are ugly" posts yet - impressive

    That's a really beautiful car William, Silver Grey is my favourite color on the M5

    Did you get perforated seats and 4MA?

    Very cool car William! Congratulations! I have always thought the M5 was a great car.

    On your photo of the underside of the car, what is that cast aluminum piece between the exhaust pipes that has a "webbed" appearance? Is that part of the differential?

    On the electronics, I hope you have a good dealer. I went through the same thing for about a year with an X-5. The gremlins seemed to start going away after a year, but were never completely banished.

    Thanks guys. According to the dealer, It was just some software issues. They reset and reprogrammed the computer and everything seem to be working fine now. I guess there are trade offs when you want to have the car early.

    Apart from all the gremlins. The M5 is a thrill to drive.

    I have the M Multi-function seat. This is also my favorite option. It will scare your passanger the first time they sit in it.

    Yes, I think that's the differential oil cooling fins.
