I prefer the front end design of the 987.
Can't really say which looks more aggressive because of the middle vent of the 987 is a bit too small. The side vents however look more turbo-like and the slightly angled lights give it a meaner look.
The large lights of the 997 just look too beetlesque. This problem didn't exist with the 993... then again the new vw beetle design didn't come out till the late nineties.

The 997.
Both the front and rear fenders of the 997 seem stretched a little tighter than the 987, implying that the power under those wheelwells is barely contained. Also, that flat area of sheetmetal that outlines the wheelwell is a little thinner on the 997, again implying it is stretched to it's limit to contain the wheels.
The hood on the 987 seems slightly lower than the 997, producing a deeper V and making the front fender of the Boxster more prominent. That might just be this photo though, hard to tell.
I am neutral on the lights, neither seems aggressive to me. The 911 looks classic, as it should, and the 987 looks like a modern and conservative sportscar headlight design. Both look great.

Agressive looking- is that a good quality?
The signal lights are in the right place for the Boxster.
I can't figure out why the 911s parking/signal lights are out of alignment. They don't line up with anything.
Boxster looks more coherent.
I was never too fond of those huge apertures cut into the signature smooth and continuous radius of 911 front bumpers to make the water-cooled radiators work.
You wonder what Porsche would have made the front end of the original 911 look like if it were water cooled.
The huge holes in the turbo, seemed to go to far, they weakened the reference to the original 911s. Now that same feeling in the Boxster.

no max ,an agressive look on a sports car is not a quality, everybody here prefers to have a porsche with a cadillac look or a hyundai front end...
well now you have a new toy! the new boxter to exterminate!enjoy it!
