    Must sell 2005 997 quickly!

Not to sound too much like the previous post but I too am looking to sell my 997 as quick as possible. Just bought a new house in Southern California and need the extra funds. It is a 2005 997 C2, black on black with 16,000 non-track miles pretty much fully loaded with Sport Chrono package, heated seats, xenon head lamps, DVD Nav, invisible paint shield, sunroof, 19 inch Carrera S rims, tinted windows, H&R wheel spacers, and with sport wheel and seats. I was thinking of asking 65K for this 997. Any thoughts, suggestions, interested parties? Thanks.

Re: Must sell 2005 997 quickly!

    and yet one more...

Re: Must sell 2005 997 quickly!

Do you think 65K is a fair price for this 997? If not what would be a fair price? Thanks.

Re: Must sell 2005 997 quickly!

curious what you paid for it (or if you're the second owner what it stickered for) and why you're selling it. thank you.

Re: Must sell 2005 997 quickly!

seems fair ASKING price..i would expect to get a few K less though

My guess is that 65k is too high

I've seen a bunch of '05 Carrera 2 with similar specs to yours go with a "buy now" price of 62k.. with some selling off the bids near 60k. But if you have time, I guess you would start with the higher 65k price (which is really a price that is too close to the going prices of C2S's IMO).

Re: My guess is that 65k is too high

Ya, unfornately LA Times had 2 05 911 one for 59K and other for 60K from private indiv.

Re: My guess is that 65k is too high

    sundiego--
still curious what it stickered for (trying to get a sense of the depreciation)? also, what will you be replacing it with? thanks.

    Re:

Purchased the 997 6 months ago for 66K. If 65K is too much thats fine, just trying to get a good gauge at what I should price it at. I will most likely post it on Autotrader this weekend for around 63K. Won't be replacing it soon as I'm selling it because I just bought a new house in southen california and will be starting a family soon. Perhaps I'll get into and M5 after a little while- a more "practical" auto.

    Re:

thanks...good luck with everything. do you know what it stickered for? my guess is in the high 70s or low 80s since it's fully loaded. let us know if you can.

I just sold my 997S today for $71K. Its a 2005 silver/grey int 14000 miles, sport chrono, adaptive seats, full leather, bose, sport shifter, sport exhaust, Nav and clear bra. It's tax season now and it took 3-4 weeks of advertizing to get it done. I had it on rennlist, roadfly, cars.com, auto trader, Ebay, Porsche club of America, luxury cars.com, and Craigs list. Originally I priced it at $78K, then dropped it to $75K, $74K, $73K, $72K and finally got a buyer at $71K. The car was in immaculate condition. I paid MSRP 2 years ago.... $97K + tax/lic (OUCH). The guy who bought it really appreciated how I took care of it and plans to do the same. Good luck

Yuck! with tax, your car cost was close to $105,000. That is $35,000 depreciation over two years. Fortunately, you got a good price on your car.

Re: Must sell 2005 997 quickly!

I would of never gone for the upgrade if I did not get the discount on the turbo right from the start ($5K off MSRP). The second step was to sell my 997S on my own vs trading it in ($62K trade in vs $71K on my own). That $14K difference is why I made the move, otherwise it just did not make much sense to me. My plan was to wait until next year but my dealer would not discount 2008 Turbos because they have a lot of folks waiting for the Cab, X51, and PDK. I figured it would cost more if I waited so I pulled the trigger and will know in 5-6 weeks if it was the right call. One thing for sure, when the Turbo arrives and I spend an adaquate amount of time behind the wheel I will call it like it is. My expectations are very high for this car (thats what attracted me to it in the first place). Time will tell.
