Ferrari is and has a "Mythos" to most - but in reality the cars not as good as others - which of course is subjective - but a funny side-story was when the "window-open" button came off when I testdrove the 488......- which doesn't mean anything of course indecision

I once test drove a California years ago and whilst in the process of adjusting the seat, the fore adjustment button feel off. I carefully handed it over to the the sales guy with a brief smile on my face. To be sincere, nothing like German build quality Smiley

I experienced the same thing back in 2009 while test driving a 997.2 and pulling up the e-brake Smiley

Nick, a Ferrari F12 looks like a Corvette to most Americans and the GTC4 Lusso attracts no gawkers either. Just get either with no scuderia shields and you would be fine. indecision Besides it has 12 cylinders and that NA sound.

The 488 has to be the best mid engine sports car made today, but drive out of any wealthy bubble enclave and I bet it will draw a lot of attention and not all of it good. A friend of mine has a F430 and it draws every idiot in a old Toyota MR2 or beater Honda coupe wanting to ''race'' it on the freeway.

let me make it clear that i love ferrari, more than i like porsche. and i am on the list for the 488speciale (or whatever it will be called). but i expect my ferrari not only to be fast, but to make me feel connected to the car/road when driving, like the GT3RS does and the 488 does not (the 458italia partly did it). i want the 488speciale to drive like the GT3RS plus have the looks of a ferrari. then i shall be happy:::)))

AFAIK that's not called an E-Brake, just a normal handbrake, an E-Brake is when the parking brake is just an electronic button (like in the 991) to activate the brake not a mechanical lever (like the 997). That's probably the confusion.

    Re: AZ 488 supertest

In the states we referred to a Manual handbrake as e-brake (for emergency brake), before some become electronic and caused the confusion...

With so few McLaren dealers in the US and the awful, low mileage rate of repair that many owners have complained about, the McLaren for me is not worthy of consideration. And visually its starting to look old and the rear end is just a design mess. They need a cleaner style, more dealers and a better warranty. Until then, no way Jose.

We have a local dealer for McLaren and they have ample stock.  But this is not a car I would consider, regardless of price and performance, for the reasons you state so well.

If you consider the Aventador comfy Gt then yes ; )

a refundable down payment won't hurt. Plus ur new dealer gives 3% interest on deposits. That's better than what banks give nowadays ; )

    Incredible speed everywhere!

The Speciale version will kill everything in the segment for 300K€. I expect it to be below 7.15 if the Speciale is at 7.21.
