    it means that past 5000 rpm, the engine sound suddenly becomes much more high, race car-like, and interesting. The difference is quite spectacular. But this only works on the carrera S, because of the Helmholtz resonator (a trick in the admission system I think) that is not present on the carrera non S. To listen to the difference, go there :

    under the exhaust pic, click on "911 experience"
    then on "driven by precision"
    skip intro
    then click on "test drive"
    and enjoy it...
