I did consider a 996TT but really like the style of the 997 better. I had an 85 Carrera at one time and loved that car as well. The 997 kind of reminds me of the look of the old P-cars with all the technological advancements. Unfortunately a 997TT is a little out of my budget. I may just be the first sucker to pay the premium and get the X51 package on the new S. I am going to think about it over the weekend. In my business will need to do 1 extra deal to pay for it and if I look at it that way doesn't seem as expensive. I know it doesn't make good financial sense for resale but these cars are a losing proposition anyway,

I hear you on the 997 styling - I like it too. What business are you in that one more deal will pay for your new ride? Real Estate? Sounds like I need to change professions

Yes I am a Real Estate Broker in Southern CA. Los Angeles area. Statrted at 21 almost 20 years in the business so sometimes I look at things in the sense of how many deals to get it or pay for it. Its a strange way of trying to justify paying too much for something. If I do decide to get the option I will have to keep it quiet because I will be flamed til no end on the boards.

I grew up in LA - Westwood (and I just turned 40 - so we have that in common). I really don't think anyone will flame you over ordering more power. Much cooler than ordering thousands of dollars worth of footwell lighting and other assorted options
Anyways, I wouldn't care if they did - you have to make yourself happy - not the board members. Enjoy your new ride!!!

Well the X51 option even at its absurd price may be more popular than one would think. As of now maybe you can get it on a Jan. build car, the rest of this year is sold out from what I hear.
