    Re: OFFICIAL: 2016 Porsche 911 [991.2]

Went for a test drive on 991.2 Carrera 4S Cab. Most have been said here about this series but compared to my car (997.2 Carrera S Cab) the biggest difference was torque, PDK in sport plus faster than mine and the suspension is smoother and more comfortable. Car looks great and this one had the spider wheels which in my opinion are the most beautiful. Exhaust sound was much better than expected , it had the sport exhaust and it really makes a difference. While cruising it´s silent, but when you step on the gas it makes a nice roar. Couldn´t test properly the handling, I was curious to feel the dif on the front suspension has I think the 997 series are a bit loose in this regard although you can master it in order to have the front more planted which makes the driving appealing and fun.  When drove back home  on my 911 engine sound was first difference notice, even at idle it roars on a meaner way. Overall sensation similar, it´s a Porsche product but the new 991.2 is more refined and looks much better. Power is reasonable but 100hp more would be welcome.

    Love this wheels

911 Targa 4S "Exclusive Design edition" announced. Nothing major except some quite neat design specific elements. Painted body parts and a lot of leather. The silhouette logo on the arm rest looks nice.

Nice looking car. What color is that? Miami or Mexican blue?yes

Also, how much more will Porsche charge for the cosmetic enhancements? I do like the Targa logo painted in the exterior color.

    It's Etna Blue:

Your dealer should be able to confirm availability and cost of special sills with logo in your exterior colour. I'm guessing they'd be an Exclusive Dept item, and therefore not listed as a "stock" item.

    Good luck

Indeed hanks for sharing Lukas Smiley

I would agree with everything he said myself, except the last bit about the 991.1GTS being a good investment for the future, I really really doubt that, it will depreciate like any other just less than regular Carreras/Turbos and even less compared to 991.2 models, because 991.1GTS is the Carrera to have and keep since you cannot have one like it anymore and its gone due to legislation, but its still a Carrera, nothing unique and special enough to the point of keeping its value. Only models like 4.0GT3RS and the like are good investments... not even 991.1GT3RS are good investments, only on the short term due to supply and demand, but after facelifts and newer models come out they will start to depreciate as well since they have no more special attractiveness and are not unique to be able to maintain their value.

If you keep your 991.1 GTS for 10-15 years, it will be a good investment (well, I wouldn't call it exactly investment but it won't depreciate as much as regular Carrera models with n/a engines). For the next couple of years however, I do not see much difference, especially since the current 991.2 seems to sell pretty well. Saw already so many 991.2 on the road in Germany, people don't seem to care about the turbo charged engine and/or the quieter exhaust sound. On the contrary, talked to a 991.2 owner a few weeks ago and he loved his car because it is a "small 911 Turbo" (which is crap in my opinion but owners seem to feel that way...).

People don't get interest for their money right now, many are afraid of stock investments, real estate is already pretty expensive, so they buy cars to enjoy life. At least here in Germany...

    Re: OFFICIAL: 2016 Porsche 911 [991.2]

Certainly won't depreciate like regular Carreras or Turbos but you won't be getting your money back when you sell it, it will still depreciate, though I agree the longer you wait the smaller % per year. But still a very poor investment, not that I care, these cars are toys to enjoy, resale is irrelevant on its purchase.

But you never know, legislation could get tougher and stricter at a pace that technology cannot keep up to compensate and maintain the fun and sporty factor in these cars. Upcoming noise, fuel and emissions laws could kill any possibility of a sport experience on a car, at least as we know it, so all of a sudden these cars can become the only way, and certain models can grab a certain image. Look at the prices of aircooled 911 have gotten to lately, its crazy, though the bubble should burst soon.

Congratulations . It love these ' different ' looks. Today I was at my dealer and in the show room there were probably 15 cars ....... only grey ( different shades ) and black . Quite depressing !
