    Help me with a decision...and possibly finding a car!

    Hello,

    I am in the market for a new car and am most interested in a 996TT Cab. Particularly I am interested in a Turbo 'S'.

    If anyone has recommendations and input about the car, options, problems, and resale value...please let me know! I am looking to pick one up in yellow/black, and am unopposed to buying used if the price and mileage are right.

    The car MUST be convertible, so please don't try to talk me down... If I were interested in a coupe I'd probably go after a GT3 anyhow

    Anybody have any input?

    get it in the colour you like, with the options you need, at a price that you think is reasonable.

    these are things that don't require other people's input

    even more pertinent is the above recommendation on the turbo S, there are barely any options to choose from besides ones that change the looks

    the rest is personal preference.

    Very much so. It is fantastic. Could be a little lighter but then if I wanted a GT-2, I could have bought one.

    Well, Richard, I know where there are a few non-S cabs for sale, but I think that for 2005 there are like 500 cabs and 180 coupes worldwide for production. Given the low numbers, the dealers tend to be ordering them and selling them off the showroom. Check the Porsche website to locate a car, or see if your dealer has any allocations left that you can order. I got one of two Turbo S coupes at my dealer this year. If you are interested in a non-S, there are a couple of cabs at Boardwalk Porsche in Plano TX.

    Thanks for the help you guys Here are the stats....:

    2005 996TT S Cab
    Speed Yellow
    Black Full Leather Interior
    18" SportTechno wheels
    E73 Carbon Package
    yellow seatbelts and stitching throughout

    There are some other options as well like crest in headrests, supple leather, heated seats, etc...nothing too important though

    PS. Another car was offerred to me with "Z97 Dev Color - Steering Wheel. Does this mean the actualy steering wheel would be the color of the car??? I am a little bit confused with that one and didn't know what to think.

    There are Turbo "S" Cabs around so depending on your location you should be able to get a discount. Dealers have around $20k in the car. The market is soft. I picked up a used TT "S" Cab with 321 miles with a list of over $150k for $130.5k.

    Deviated steering wheel would be in one of Porsche's interior colors. For instance, you could get a black steering wheel on a graphite grey interior.
