Re: Is there a way to reprogram the phone buttons on the...?
Don't think so...need a BMW for that. Buttons on our 530d are much more useful. Two different philosophies - You can do everything in PCM with the wheel buttons in the P, but it's difficult. BMW is limited to only the things you do all the time, and does this quickly/easily. Incidentally how do those without the multifunction wheel mute the sound, without turning off PCM? This is the button I use most, folowed by the numbers on the phone keypad.
Re: Is there a way to reprogram the phone buttons on the...?
to mute the sound you just press from the PCM, AUDIO, Menu the button "mute" on the lower side of the screen in audio menu, but you must rotate the right button, BTW, Holminator when did you "delete" your model designation?
Re: Is there a way to reprogram the phone buttons on the...?
Please disregard my previous post.... I'm a bit disappointed with the multifunction wheel, and didn't read your v short post correctly, ie phone buttons. What did you want program these to do?
And I was wrong about not being able to program the buttons anyway. I had programmed my screen button to scroll thru the menus, but now that I've used it more I'll try it on Audio menu. I've set the Main menu to the trip computer, because the audio info is available on the OBC display in the instrument binnacle
Thanks Dilinger, that's too difficult for me so I'd probably just turn the volume down, and accept that my CD continues playing rather than stop in that position. My point was that with the multifunction wheel we get a dedicated mute button. Small issues when the car is used as a daily driver!
Re: Is there a way to reprogram the phone buttons on the...?
I wanted to program it to do anything instead of the current used space since I have second thoughts about the GSM module from time-to-time. Umm, and especially since Isis fried my computer last night. Hahaha!
