Personally, I wouldn't consider suing- my expreience with the many Porsches that I've owned is that Porsche is a responsible company that wants to make things right for the customer.
aj,
If you have concerns after a D/E , try contacting PCNA and see how helpful / customer focus they are.
Man, I hope that is an avenue I never have to travel. My '05 has the "new" PCCB and hopefully it'll be more durable?? I agree that the Porsche website can be misleading about brake wear and PCCB- the text needs to be changed. However, the owner's manual (at least for '05) states that aggressive driving and track days will increase wear on the PCCBs. Having had a little knowledge before purchase, I expected a PCCB service life of about 30K miles. For me, my expectations would be based on the reason for failure and the mileage at which it occurred. Manufacturers in general are reticent to replace brakes due to the nature of them being wear items.
I in general am reticent to calling an attorney and incurring the costs to win or possibly lose a battle that can just as likely be won through amicable communication. Typically, the legal costs incurred would be greater than those of simply replacing the PCCBs or switching to Brembo big brakes. I just don't see alot of value added in this scenario through lawsuits.
