    Re: My new 997s

    Flevio,

Congads on your new car!1 Amazing!

    And welcome to the forum

I was also worried about the sports wheel in leather (thicker) i cant see the difference much in the pics but it must be more obvious in feeling.

Is it only coming in smooth leather?

    Enjoy your car:)

I have to admit i was a little bit sceptical when i ordered it(was advised by my dealer)!!
But IMO you really feel the difference when you drive!Don't you think so?
Here another pic, hope it can help you
    IMO it's a good choice

    Flevio,

THANKS! I always wanted the thicker wheel on my 996 Turbo once I drove a 996 with that option. It just gives it a very high quality/exotic feel. I know it's very subjective, some people don't like it but for me it's great. It's similar in thickness to the Astons, Ferrari's and Bimmers M's. I was driving a Maserati Grand Sport the other day and that steering wheel is awesome. Talk about a thicker wheel.

Anyway, Great luck and many fun miles with her. Great color combo. And THANKS again for the pics.

    Re: My new 997s

Obviously there's not a huge difference! But if you see other front pics of the steering wheel you will notice it!!
Anyway,as i said before, my pics are of low quality as i took them with my phone
I will post high res pics soon

    Re: My new 997s

    Flevio,
Now that you have a nice coupe why not get the 430 spider instead of the 430 coupe ? Have a convertible so that you can really enjoy the sun.
    That's what I'm doing anyway. I have 2 coupes so I'm getting a 997 S cab.

I thought about it and i'm still cosidering it!
BUT: i placed my order on july and i think that changing it would lead up to an increase of wait! Then here in the north of Italy you can "use" your cab only for 3/4 month!

BTW it is also another good dilemma

    A VERY GOOD DILEMMA indeed.

I remember wanting a 997S in August 2004 when they first came out. I decided to wait for the convertible.

You just got the 997 S......... Waiting for another car now that you have the Porsche to enjoy shouldn't be that bad. Here in NY, USA Spiders are much harder to get. Usually you need to already be a good customer before getting a NEW Spider. The pre-owned 360 Spiders sell for a greater premium over the coupes. With the weather in Italy I don't know if the same is true but think having both a coupe sports car and a convertible sports car gives a little more variety.

    Decisions.......... Decisions..........;)

PS: Exactly what do you mean by "you can "use" your cab only for 3/4 month!"

Do you mean only 3 out of every 4 weeks or only 3 weeks out of the year ? If you mean only 3 weeks out of the entire year I wouldn't get a convertible either.

    Re: My new 997s

    Stradale,
Your comment regarding Rosso Scuderia was what I had heard as well...Apparently when viewed on TV Rosso Scuderia is meant to look like Rosso Corsa (if that makes any sense)

    Rossi
Since you are such a fan of Rosso Corsa, I thought I'd attach a couple of picks of my old F car.
This was a UK registered car (although I purchased it from Eberlain in Germany)The photos were taken in Malibu Canyon California. It was kind of fun having a 'UK' car so far from home (Only problem was I got stopped a lot by the cops)

    Re: My new 997s

    Final Photo
I got a midnight blue 997S at the weekend, which I drove for the first time yesterday...I'll post a couple of pics in a few days when the weather picks up....Can't wait to take it for a good drive to see how it compares to the 360

    Re: My new 997s

Yup. Makes perfect sense. I heard the Rosso Scuderia comes across much brighter on TV but closer to how you see Rosso Corsa in real life. I love the Rosso Scuderia but don't know if I would get it or the Rosso Corsa in a 430. Because the Stradale was introduced in Rosso Scuderia, it was kind of it's 'official racing red' color I was certain that was the color I wanted. I did decide to eliminate the red seats and dashboard instead I have an all black alcantara interior with red stitching.

I also heard something about Rosso Scuderia and the color of the red in Marlboro but don't remember what that was exactly.

Thanks for the pics of your 360. Very nice. Congrats on the 997 S !.

    Re: My new 997s

Hello Stradale !! Here's the colour Freak again. I think you are right, if I'm not mistaking the Rosso Scuderia is MARLBORO RED !! Ferrari F1 Cars were Ferrari Red coloured (Rosso Corsa) until 1996. From 1997 and up they had the Scuderia or Marlboro Red.

"Here's the colour Freak again" LOL !

In Rosso Scuderia - Thanks Freak for confirming what I thought I heard.

    Re: My new 997s

    stradale,

why you have to be a good customer to get a Ferrari spider first hand?
You mean they are playing the difficult guys there?

And buy the way how much the sell the 430 there?

Here in Greece must be around 210,000 Euro

Typically in the Northeast of the US pre-owned Spiders sell for higher premiums over coupes. They are in more demand because most people in the Northeast only use their Ferrari's during the nice months. In the Spring through Fall. They can take advantage of a convertible approx 6 months out of the year so many people want a convertible during this time of year. Before the 430 was launched a normal 360 spider that sold new for $205k was selling at $235-250k pre-owned (1 year old with low mileage). A 360 coupe that cost $170k new would cost $185k pre-owned. Used Stradales were selling at $20-$30k over cost. Spiders carry higher pre-owned premiums here beacause they are in more demand hence the longer wait. The wait for a new spider was typically 2 plus years where the coupe was 1 plus years. (If you were a NEW customer) However, customers that already had a car to trade in that the dealer could sell for a profit can get into new cars faster but in some dealers the new Spiders are reserved for return customers because the dealer knows they wont flip the car for profit and can make more money once that person returns to the dealer to trade-in his spider later on........... They reward return business. It makes good buiness sense if you think about it.

    Re: My new 997s

    well it sure does!

    Re: My new 997s

Congtats Flevio, nice Carrera S !
