Cold weather test mules for the Cayman's 3.4L turbo motor , hence the central exhaust and what looks like a turbo in the lower left of car. Rest of car is std 997 with the aerokit to make poeple think it's a 997 GT3 mule .

I would have belived in your theory.
However, all GT3 mules have been spotted with central exhausts.
I'm DISSAPOINTED that PDK is NOT coming with GT3.

The GT3RS cup cars ALL have central exhaust outlets, so your theory dies.

I'm well aware of the race exhausts and I was having fun with you guys re the Cayman - you took it seriously, LOL!
BTW,on a street car, the only way I see this system workable for a GT3 is if the cats go near the wheel well where the exhaust cans are now and the exhaust is one big can in the middle like the Boxster. OTOH, the worse scenario is incorporating small pup cats just aft of the headers for quicker light off ala 996 Turbo, then incorporating main cats inside the exhaust can, again like current Turbo's 4 cat system , where aftermkt exhaust is not EPA legal since you are removing the main factory cat with non-approved attached aftermarket ones , rasing the cost of turbo aftermarket systems compared to the pure cat back ones for reg 996/997 C2.

MKW,
Instead of the Turbo-looking thing hanging down from the left side of the car, maybe it is like you said the catalytic converter since the exhaust is now where the cats used to be.
