PASM doubt
Gents,
I've been wondering something about PASM for a while.
First time I read about it was through RC's post, great device, basically
similar in principle to Ferrari/ Maserati's Skyhook or Merc ABC suspension.
You leave it in normal for, well, normal use and select sport when you want
to have serious fun. Ok Great!
But I read on several occasion recently that the Porsche PASM actually
switches automatically for you to sport mode when it detect that you are
driving in a sporty manner!!!
Ok, fist of all, it is quite arrogant for a computer to pretend that it can
detect your feeling, but more seriously, is that true?
Well, in that case, why have a sport button? And on what grounds exactly
does the PASM know when to switch to sport mode.
I have a mixed feeling about this. It's a bit like PSM when it came out,
great device, but when you switch it off, it comes back on automatically
when you press the brakes.
Here, it's a bit different, but basically, you wanna stay in normal, but
the computer will switch to sport automatically!
From what I've read on PASM, the difference between normal and sport
setting is quite big, so 997 owners, do you feel an unwanted suspension
difference in the way the car reacts sometimes?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post,
Fanch.
