    Silly Question?

    I have a 996 Turbo on order and delivery is late this year. After hearing so many rumours about the 997 I don't know whether I'm going to take delivery and a couple of months later my car will be the old one. Or does it really matter? Also, how long before the next turbo? I've heard rumours that they are only taking orders for the 996 turbo until June. You all probably think this is a silly question but I'm no millionaire, I've waited a long time to get one and I just want to be sure....

    Normal practice will be to continue production of the current Turbo for a year beyond the new model and then stop production for a while. Then they introduce the new model Turbo 1-3 years later. They've been pretty consistant about this.

    You will loose money no matter what happens. It is the nature of the beast. The only way that Porsche can continue selling cars is to improve the breed all of the time. We benefit from this by getting the newest stuff all of the time. But there is a price to be paid.
