You can go to Porsche.com (build your own) and configure a car with the crest. You can then do the 360 view of the interior and see the crest with any color interior.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

If I could have had it I would have ordered it. It just makes the interior that little bit more special. I had in a couple of Alfa Romeos and loved the effect. One was an embroiderd logo (Alfa 156) the other was embossed (GTV) like the Porsche option. The embossing looks great but it is all down to personal taste.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

I ordered it. It's subtle. Go for it...

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

i have it on my 996 cab and was never a fan of it. Dealer had the car on the floor and made it worth my while to take but never would have ordered with it. Guess it depends on how flashy of a guy you are. Guess thats why they make options..... to each their own. I'll post a pic for you.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm a little confused, is the crest just embossed in the seat color or is it like an embroidered color stitching?

    Embossed, no stitching.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

It's absolute useless. But I Like it and I ordered it. It makes the plain surface of these long seats much more interesting.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

Here's a photo... sorry about the quality taken with my phone.

oops guess u beat me seven..... well he has two colors to choose from now

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

    I was faster.

But we have both photos of the same poor quality. You have to see it in real. It looks much better.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

Nice option for a Cab but not really necessary (because almost invisible) on a Coupe. Especially if you have a black interior, forget about it on a Coupe. Just wasted money but on the other hand...it costs only a few bucks.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

I say cancel it. In these pictures they look too messy, vague and irregular. They add to the confusion of the supposedly clean look Porsche's are supposed to have. By the time someone gets into your car they already know it's a Porsche anyway, why keep repeating it?

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

I agree rc & mmd. very ostentatious on a cab and next to invisible on a coupe. Guess they make it for the person who also has Porsche pillow cases

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

Just another opinion here: I think it looks good... BUT its ostentacious, paying for extra logos to show the brand, IMO its an option more typical and popular in high-end italian imports but thats just a subjective personal opinion, its a matter of taste and interpretation.

Where can I buy Porsche pillow cases?!

    Only kidding!

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

I absolutely love that option. I think it is very subtle, mainly because it is embossed rather than stitched on. It does add some sportiness to the interior, which is good given how staid the interior is. Not that everything Ferrari does is great, but all their seats have an embossed prancing horse, and it just looks so dang GOOD. In a Porsche, the effect is the same with the embossed crest.

I don't know how much this option is on the 997, but on the 996 it was around $220 or so, which is cheap relative to most Porsche options. So I definitely say go for it.

Your dealer doesnt have them on display? Mine had them displayed in Speed Yellow with the Lapis Blue Comforter displayed on the 380HP widebody waterbed.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

Okay I admit it. I love the crest in the headrest...

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

I've ordered it and love the subtle look, it adds a small detail to a big area of plain leather. Although I wouldn't have ordered a stitched version, now that would have been over the top. just my opinion, each to there own

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

    Looks great

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

    Sorry for poor quality pic

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

    I vote go for it

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

all I know is that's a rip off.

OK it looks good, but you basically give away your money to porsche. They probably do that at no cost at all. Porsche all thank you for your donations.

Although if I had bought a porsche, I would have taken that option. Should be standard though.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

take a pass. do you really need to remind yourself it's a porsche ?
while your at it, choose model designation delete. you know what it is.
    less is more, sometimes.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

My vote is no. This is a sports car not a piece of jewelry. As close to base, w/ exception of full leather, the better IMO.

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

I love it... but hey, I love the looks of the porsche crest, so why not. If it is only Euro 220,- (for two that is? )
I don't know, it makes the interior looks finished.

    Go for it!

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

I love it. One of my favourite inside porsche options

Re: Crest in the Headrest...Good option or Cheese?

When I ordered my '02 coupe I got the headrest crest. Gee thats cool. After having the car for 3 years do I look at it, do I care, NO - I'am looking out the windscreen driving the car...
Ordering my '05 I did not think twice and passed over the headrest crest option.
    Naked headrests for me!
