Autocar describes it as "While the architecture is nominally a development of that older car’s(Evora), only the wheelbase remains the same. The tracks have been widened, larger 20in wheels can be fitted and the Emira has dramatically different proportions to the Evora."

Yes. A good article
Very nice shape in the colour as above, at least.
Lotus have followed a "supercar design" for the Emira, which in my eyes looks more attractive and harmonious than the recent Ferraris, McLarens and Lamborghinis which are supposed to be the templates for this style of car.
In terms of weight this car was designed according to Geely Auto standards rather than Colin B Chapman's legacy.
My prediction: Many will love the Lotus but when it comes to buying most will pay for the Porsches and the BMWs.

Gauss:Jean:The roof line looks too high?
You must also find the 718 Cayman too high then.
For reference: The Emira is only 1224 mm high. The Cayman 718 is 1295 mm. Plus, the Emira is slightly longer than the Cayman too (by 33 mm).
Strange that the Lotus is larger, but they weren’t able to give it a proper frunk like a Cayman. Maybe due to the double wishbone suspension (I think this was a real challenge with the 992 GT3).

Wonder how the Lotus Emira lines up against the Maserati MC20, for example. Whilst the Maserati is at a much higher pricing point, it is doubtful that it will offer much over this car. It's not a traditional Lotus with lightness added, it does epitomize modern mid engine design and construction.
Some photo's I took at part of the initial depositors roadshow event at the Lotus dealer across the road from the Silverstone race circuit yesterday. The car looks really good in the metal and appears well thought out with lots of space in the cabin and nice little design details all around the car.
