    More Cayman models to follow?

    So far, we heard a rumour of two further Cayman models:
    1. Cayman (~ 250-255 HP)
    2. Cayman Turbo (~ 340 HP)

    The introduction of the above models depends on how well (or not ) the Cayman S sells.
    Above information is based on rumours, this is NOT official information!

    Depending on the media reviews and, as you said how well it'll do, the Turbo version is something to consider .

    i would THINK that they would make more models.

    a turbo may be too much to hope for since that would SERIOUSLY infringe on 911 territory.

    but i would surely think a base version is in line, otherwise it would be VERY silly to have ONLY a S version of the cayman and no references points on which the S is an improvement.

    The complexity and poorer throttle response of a turbo is not justified by only adding 45hp IMHO.

    they could do 340 with natural aspiration.. but they won't because that would infringe on the base carrera

    even the Cayman S at 295 horsepower, is strategically placed to be under 300.

    porsche will NOT allow this car to cannibalize sales (too much) from their mainstay eleven.

    i think they will release a base version and thats it. mabye offer clubsport package, or a stripped down version, but nothign with more power.

    Why did they go through the expense of all the focus groups on two differents models? And since they being produced in Finland, why no factory spy pics?

    A Cayman turbo probably would be faster than a 997S on the track. Just maybe, a repeat of 1970 in 2006, a Cayman is entered in the 2006 Le Mans and finshes ahead of all the 911s.

    I don't think any of the wet sump motors will be raced at Le Mans...
