Porker:Does anyone need more than 200hp?
Yes.
I would only be worried about warranty and reliability.
I could easily tune my family truck to 900 hp with TÜV(!).
Reliability would be OK since this tuning comes with various cooling system improvements.
What for though? Of course it could be fun to keep up with an E63 S on the Autobahn but on the other hand, I am fast enough to be slightly faster than the previous RS6 Performance (we tried on our way to Garmisch), so what do I expect more from a 2.5 t truck?
The tuning would void the warranty, a new Hellcat engine is around 30k EUR. Also, the drivetrain could be damaged, the 900 hp tuning provides around 1200 Nm of torque. Ouch.
Yes, there is a "mild" 80 hp tuning for little fun (basically just a pulley, new sparks and software) but the warranty would be still voided.
I love cars in their original state, had a couple of tuned ones (Delta HF Integrale Holzer Motorsport, 996 Turbo RS-Tuning, 997 Turbo RUF 550, Shelby GT500 Schropp) and to be honest, they all had issues in a way or another and warranty...well...
Of course you are free to do what you want with your family car but you still have the 812...

Man, you’re gonna love it even more. That V8 AMG sound with ~900Nm of torque never gets old. I just had a blast this morning on wet and empty Swiss mountain roads.
bluelines:Did you already swing by Stva?
Immediately, nothing better than a bit of gymnastique after a good drive.

Gnil:Looking forward to know if is is actually now better then the 812
I think an 812 does 0-200 in under 8, that's still something else. :)
This one now seems to do 0-200 in slightly under 10, but in all conditions of course.

Under 10s with kids, dog and ski gear in the trunk ;)
schmoell:Can you disable all the nannies and drift it properly ? If so, does it sort of behave, or is it doing wild and unexpected things ?
Sure, everything switches fully off without problem. You can either do that in 4x4 or in RWD. As an RWD it drifts very easily thanks to the long wheelbase I guess. There’s a video of some sideways fun a few pages back I think.

I realize that I'm at risk of looking like a tuner after having fitted the Akrapovič and Renntech upgrade, as now the sound system is being taken care of. The car came without the Burmester-option and frankly the standard system was appalling. There's no depth, a very tinny/flat sound.
As the car as it is now is as close as perfect in terms of daily transport as I could imagine, I wanted to have that solved as well, so it's being fitted with a decent aftermarket system. As with the other modifications, there's no visible signs of it. It's all done in the OEM-housing or hidden from sight. Once that's done it's pretty much perfect for me.

spudgun:I hope that tuning is not a crime in your region.
I grew up in much the same region as you did I guess, a crime it was not. But you did not want to be part of the scene.
Got the car back meanwhile and love the result, makes a joke out of the OEM system and zero visual consequence.
