4trac:
I can't imagine many touring owners track their cars, that is one of the main points of this edition... or if they occasionally do, they are having fun not concerned about track times. Sounds like for your use, just get a standard GT3.....
Actually, I know of quite a few 991 Tourings that are used on track. I drove my friend's on Spa and he drove it for many laps there and at the Nordschleife. Here at home, I know of several guys who are regulars at the track with their Tourings.
I think the new car will be much more differentiated between Wing and Touring. While the 991 Touring was perfectly at home on track (particularly at my slower local track), I think the 992 Winged car makes much more sense for track use, if the Touring becomes more of a "Lifestyle" car as AP suggested.
I am #1 for a 992 GT3 at my local dealer and my allocation is for an October build Touring (although I requested a Wing). I am in the process of waiting for my dealer to try to trade it for an earlier build Wing allocation, so that I might try to do Euro Delivery this Fall. May be difficult with Covid and everything else going on...
