    Yes, but isn't PDK-S just a software update mixed with marketing waffle? *hiding* Smiley

    It's regular PDK with 7th gear made a little shorter (but top speed still in 6th).

    981 GT4 hands down. There is no substitute. The 718 GT4 in direct comparison is a dull machine.

    I made the same choice and went for the 981. It is less refined and louder Smiley

    But as already mentioned, best to drive both and compare.

    Seems there is a stop sale/recall on some 718 GT4 cars as there is faulty connecting bolt that can cause engine damage. Looks like it only affects ~200 cars. PCNA is calling customers who have taken delivery directly and will replace the affected engines.

    I am actually wondering if they didn’t choose the faster version Smiley

    There has never been an official lap with PDK.  Either it’s slow and they are embarrassed to show a time or it’s fast and they want to make sure they leave enough room for the GT4 RS to be impressive.

    Sportauto compared the two on the Hockenheimring. Verdict, gearing more suitable for the track and 25 additional kg of weight on the PDK, yet .1 seconds slower. Better acceleration to 100 kph yet slower to 200 (as manufacturer’s specs suggest as well). Initial assumption from the magazine was lack of power yet the car was checked back at Porsche and deemed perfectly fine.

    EU has accepted a new compromise regarding Euro 7 emissions certification, meaning that it isn't game over (yet) for ICE cars. This could mean that some car companies will extend the lifetime of their ICE models.

    I still love my GT4, a great driver's car. However, I do not see me using it probably over the next few years because my first child is now a few months old and a second one will certainly follow sometime. I am thinking of selling the car and buying something which is more user friendly, i.e., I want to be able to take my daughter with me which is not possible in the GT4 due to the full bucket seats. Ideally, the replacement should be fun, have a manual transmission and most probably rear wheel drive. What would you recommend?

    My current ideas are: BMW M2 Competition, Alfa Romeo Giulia QV or Yaris GR.

    I had bucket seats in my 996 Turbo RS-Tuning, child seat fit perfectly and daughter loved it. Smiley

    With two kids, things get more complicated. Either get a real family car and keep the GT4 or get the Giulia QV. The BMW and Yaris are too small, only compromises.

    Tested the Yaris GR, great car but rear seats are a big no no. 911 and M2 are way more ‘child seat friendly’.

    Can hardly expect them to be anything more than 'meh' given the size of the car obv... Useful if you have a baby/young child, otherwise just as a shelf.

    My boys are coming with me in the GT4. The Cybex seats which they had since 1 year old fits perfect in the bucket seat. No need to sell that GT4. I made that mistake and look what happened indecision
