Some pics from Maranello, etc. Awesome trip.
Thanks for your advice Gary, Nick and others. We stayed the first night (Wednesday) and Thursday night in Maranello at The Planet Hotel directly across the street from the Ferrari Factory. The Factory tour on Thursday was fantastic ! We then drove to Rome Friday and to Venice Saturday and flew out from Bologna Sunday. Yeah, it was a fast trip and we speed toured through Maranello, Modena, Rome, Venice all in only 4 days. But we got to see a lot. The Factory tour, a winery in Modena, we took 3 walking tours in one night in Rome and a 4th tour of the Vatican/ Sistine Chapel the next am. Drove up to Venice from Rome w/ enough time to watch the sunset from The San Marco Square tower. And the only Hotel reservation's that we had were for the first 2 nights in Maranello so we basically winged the whole trip (including the walking tours) and were lucky to find the places w/ maps I bought on the way and places to stay the night. The AutoStrada was insane. Had such a great time. The only thing I would have done different is tried to rent a faster car. There were more than a few occasions on the AutoStrada that I had our little rental car pinned at top speed for 5 or 10 minutes at a time and I was still getting passed by chicks. LOL!!
