Touring is coming...not sure about the rear seats though yet. The mule I saw last year didn't have any but on the other hand, I saw a convertible mule and apparently there won't be a convertible, so...who knows?!

Seeking an honest answer. I no longer do track events, and don’t want a manual transmission. Is there a real reason for me to move from my current C4S to a GT3? I’m tempted, but for a harsher ride and a tiny bit of performance difference, is it really worth it for me? Thanks in advance.

Apart from the noise and the never ending revs, you will feel a disappointment as these engines do not pull hard at low revs compared to your C4S.

Honest answer: If you are looking for a fun tool for curvy roads, the GT3 is certainly more fun than the C4S, maybe also a little bit more challenging without the AWD. If you care mostly about ride feel and performance, stick to your C4S or just switch it with the upcoming GTS (in AWD flavor).

If I am being honest your c4s with a sports exhaust should be enough. I was pleasantly surprised with my 992S, in terms of power and daily usability. However my last porsche before this was a gt3 2016, so I was a little disappointed that it was a little bland. Although definitely not lacking for power or comfort. So for my personal use I ordered a gt3 December production. Mind you I will probably be going for the touring version because I like the low key more for my daily use, and I’ll get that sound, high revs, and more excitement. If they throw in some rear seats then I’m in heaven. The 911 sweet spot thought as RC said has always been the GTS.

Test drive a GT3 and decide. Personally I have owned all the 911 models and the GT cars far exceed the rest in the “fun” factor. I wish Porsche would build a GT3 Targa.
The purpose of life is to enjoy the moment.

Yes, the GT3 definitely delivers more fun than any Carrera model. No doubt. Especially now with Carrera biturbos and the GT3 still being n/a. This isn't about the engine only but about the whole package, including chassis and steering feel. Not everyone will like this though, some Porsche drivers prefer comfort over sportiness and if the comfort/sportiness ratio is too far away from comfort, some Porsche owners won't like it.
For a daily driver, I would probably get a 992 Turbo S convertible but for a weekend fun toy, GT3 or even GT3 RS all the way.

The relatively torque-poor GT3 engine feels fun in the GT3 and RS in particular because those are the lightest chassis in the 911 lineup. Burdening that engine with hundreds of extra pounds and power-sapping FWD of the Targa is the last thing that drivetrain needs...

Wonderbar:BTW, anyone have any reliable information about when a 911 Hybrid will come out, if ever?

Gnil:But US pricing advantage is still there. Way cheaper then in Europe
Not really great discount when you consider than German price has 19% VAT included and US price doesn't include tax yet (varies by city and state)...
We used to have very favorable pricing (the percentage increase in US was significantly higher than in EU).
