    Surprise delivery

    Went into my dealer this afternoon, fully expecting to be told that they still can't tell me any news about delivery as my car was scheduled for Feb build to be told it was completed on 14th January and is already on its way here. Expected at the dealers mid Feb. So nearly time to put a celebratory bottle of bubbly on ice

    Hey your baby was born on the same day as mine!!! Perhaps they are cuddling up together now on the ship! (Or perhaps I should stop being weird about my car)

    No. Up to the doctors for some tranquilisers and sleeping pills. Some decent Aussie red wine to wash it all down down with should help.

    So that's triplets then Best keep an eye on that ship as we've all got a vested interest in it.

    Now, whose dealer opens earliest on the 1st?

    When I got my first Boxster the salesman left a bottle of bubbly in the car for me

    I think mine could well be on the same boat as yours too. Just need to sell my current one now!

    THis is my first brand new motor and so dont fully know the script... can we expect 00:00AM pickups that sort of thing???? That would be great! Have taken the day of but am worried that there will be lots of people picking up new cars that day and dont want to have to wait any longer than needed!!!!!

    My first, and probably only, Porsche. Even so I think now the tranquilisers are kicking in I might actually leave collection until 3rd March. Fits in better with my work commitments. The garage will be less manic as well. How that for laid back?

    Don't think they do midnight openings anymore, especially since the 2 registrations a year. You could ask your delaer if you can take the car home early on trade plates and then roll it out of your garage at midnight.

    Don't know how busy they'll realistically be - it's midweek - but I'm going down the day before to complete all teh paperwork etc. to make the handover as smooth as possible. They'll probably want me to clear the showroom asap as this is what happened last time I collected a car from them, my mother decided to come too.....

    That sounds like a good idea... I could take a half day on the 28th.. Do all the boring stuff then pick her up nice and early on the 1st! Good thinking RichC

    Decided not to go for wheels on mine, no need realy. Much safer without..

    Hear that DreamCar and RichC have those super Carrera S wheels that are so in demand at the moment!

    I have good ideas occaisionally, that's me all used up for this year though!

    The piccy was of my mother, wearing rabbit ears sitting in my last Boxster when I went to collect it. I live in the sticks so dealt with a dealer near my folks and collection turned into a family affair

    I could tell you about our security arrangements but then I'd have to shoot you. Sorry. I will tell you that a US Navy CVBG is on standby to escort the car carrier across the channel, if that gives you an idea of our security levels

    Yeah, so yesterday with wheels.
    Those security bolts...do they come standard or do you have to order them seperately? Do you know if they are similar or unique...? Anyone have the order number?

    Makes me sick that I couldnt even use'm if I could pinchem from you bastards
    I think I will go out and pet my 986 now. Just because I CAN!
    Some of us DO have a car, ya know!

    Hey! My Boxster may not arrive for another month BUT at the risk of making you even more jealous I currently have free and unrestricted use of a superb, 2004 low mileage cobalt blue Kia Picanto. AND a Ford Focus Diesel. Neither of these have 19" wheels, however. The Kia has special wire woven basket style open top bodywork with all wheel indirect steering and an orange spoiler on the back that looks uncannily like a handle, with "TESCO" stickers on it.

    I wish you wouldn't advertise these things. Now EVERYBODY will want one. I will have to sell it and get something common like a Boxster. Can you imagine how stunning it looks in Cobalt blue? Unlike the one in the picture my Picanto doesn't have PCCB. It would double the price of the car.
