    Is there a way to close the windows from outside the car?

    I know that on the 997 you can open the windows from the key remote, however, I cannot seem to close my windows from the remote. I used to be able to do this on my Audi - is it not possible on the Porsche? It's quite annoying as I've got into the habit of opening the window to exit my car in a very tight parking place, and then I can't close the damn window!

    I haven't tried it on my car, but if I recall correctly, in my old 996 you could put ur key in the door and turn to lock it (holding it in lock position)...give it a try

    If you hold the lock button on the remote, the windows won't close while you hold the button down?

    You need to buy a BMW for that amount of technology. Known as "comfort closing". Like you need to buy a BMW to get tyre pressure Monitoring

    Yeah, my wife's BMW has it for sure, but my 996 has it as well if I remember correctly or am I dreaming?

    BTW, what wrong with Porsche's Tire Pressure Monitoring System?

    I am sure there is nothing wrong with it - my point is you can actually get TPMS on a BMW!

    I see what you meant now, must be an GB thing cause I ordered TPMS on my 997S and its available here

    Yes. Put the key in the door keyhole and turn it toward the locking position (I think it's to the right but my memory is old and laced with martinis) but hold it to the right until the windows are fully up.

    Yes, very handy being able to open / close windows when out of the car. Works brilliantly (by remote) in my humble Ford Focus

    No offense, but how is it handy if you have to physically put the key in the keyhole?...I would prefer to see it as part of the handheld alarm system vs an extra step.

    Every car I have owned since 1997 has had a feature where the windows close automatically when you hold down the remote button. Except the 997.

    Thanks for the advice though - I'll try it with the key in the lock. Not ideal though - if they can do it that way, why couldn't they do it remotely through the key.
