I recommend the Battery Tender Jr. It comes w/ aligator clips but a cigarette lighter adaptor is available too. Here is a good source:

Sidebar comment: if your alarm is armed for that long, your remote control will not work until you manually unlock the door with the key. Turn the ignition to turn on the generator or start up the car within 30 or 60 second (can't remember the precise amount of time) or the alarm will go off and give you a headache.

precisely why i dont get the door plug
auto unlock is disabled after 5 days

I learned that starter batteries (as opposed to RV deepcycle batteries) should not be run down.If they are their service life is significantly reduced. Of course the battery is being used when the car is just sitting there but a modern battery ought to be able to handle that, provided there is not too much of a residual load.
I have six cars on two continents (and have had for some time) and as an inevitable result some of them sit unused for 1 or 2 months at a time, many times a year.
I have never used a trickle charger and only ever had one problem and that was with a car that has the European equivalent of "Lojack" fitted. It has its own rechargeable battery and when that goes down it pulls current from the car battery.
Apart from that every single car has started first time, every time. For year after year.
