Ever heard of his car that is so shiny, the cops's radar bounces right off of the car! Just like the Stealth bomber!
Ever heard him explain his girlie like to nob nibble?

If not youre in for a treat! This is so funny you will not believe it.
Be warned. Its almost 30 minutes long,,,but worth every minute

    I know it's old...but I just remembered it

Re: Funnier than hell! How to beat the cops in your IROC Cam

Well, just be sure to keep you car waxed and shinny and the radar will bounce right off

This technique probably out-performs aluminum foil in the hub caps!

Actually, a stealth bomber works on the principle of not returning any radar waves. It tries to absorb or not reflect the radar wave.

Re: Funnier than hell! How to beat the cops in your IROC Camaro!

For those of you who don't know the Phil Hendrie show, he does all the voices of most of the "interviewed" callers. The caller he is talking to is actually himself. Some shows are pretty funny, but made up in order to get people to call in, and for debating purposes.

    Ummm ...

Absorber is only used on "sharp corner" airfoil elements like leading edges.

Most of the radar-cross-section reduction comes from "pre-planned reflection" to make the radar waves bounce off -- harmlessly away -- and not straight back to the radar site.

    Anywhere but straight back!

That's why the F-117 looks like it's made from a collection of flat plates mounted at odd angles -- it IS.

Ever try to photograph a mirror-polished sphere in a black room using a flash? All you'll see is a tiny point reflection. That's because the flash is approximately a point source and only a tiny point on the sphere (actually perpendicular) reflects flash energy back to the camera.

All the rest of the flash energy reflects away, to elsewhere in the room (not seen by the lens), and is then disposed of by spreading loss (1/r*2) and/or any of the black-colored surroundings (environmental absorption) with which in comes in contact.

It works the same way with radar and stealth aircraft.

You know, Mike...sometimes you really, really scare me!

OK, Lasse, sorry for the digression into geek-city.

Your thread just happened to stumble into an area where I actually know something.

So that means that this car (a best seller in Japan) is invisible to radar?

I actually meant: It scares me that you know so much about it. Geekish or not, it's great to listen to people who actually KNOW what they are talking about-
